Jeff Bezos established web-based business monster Amazon in 1994 out of his carport in Seattle. He ventured down as CEO to become chief director on July 5, 2021. Amazon flourished during the pandemic; incomes in 2020 became 38% to $386 billion as individuals remained at home and made online purchases. In April 2020, Bezos said he would give $100 million to Feed America, a philanthropic that works food banks and food wash rooms across the country. Amazon has confronted analysis from U.S. congresspersons and the overall population for its treatment of stockroom laborers during the Covid pandemic. He and his significant other Mackenzie separated in 2019 following 25 years of marriage and he moved a fourth of his 16% Amazon stake to her.
